This 1-hour self-paced virtual course is intended to fulfill the theoretical component for the use of c for vascular access. The participant can expect in-depth and comprehensive discussions regarding ultrasound technology and its application during vascular access.
Objectives:
At the end of this course the participant should be able to:
- Have a basic knowledge of the science of ultrasound. This includes an understanding of how ultrasound waves are produced, frequencies, the interaction of ultrasound within a particular medium, image resolution and transducer designs.
- Verbalize the understanding of advanced pre-procedure vascular assessment with ultrasound for vessel health and unique anatomical vessel characteristics.
- Demonstrate the procedural knowledge of needle guidance with ultrasound.
